Welcome to the Stark Naked and the Car Thieves blog. Putting up this blog is in response to how much interest there continues to be in the band and its music, and it doesn’t seem to flag. Over the years this site has been online I’ve received numerous messages emailed to me from people who remember us, have questions about us, our music, where we played, and even ah… are you those Stark Naked and the Car Thieves? Right off the bat, let me make it clear that this Stark Naked and the Car Thieves is the ORIGINAL Stark Naked and the Car Thieves, and is in no way related to the Little Rock, Arkansas r&b band that has adopted our name. We are also not in any way related to the Norwegians of the same name, “Sterk Naken og Biltyvene”, as Stark Naked and the Car Thieves is apparently written in Norwegian.
If you are visiting our site and have memories tweaked or questions, please post them here. Hopefully I won’t be the only one answering them, which has been pretty much the case so far. I know the band members I’ve shared these comments with have been very glad to hear about these contacts. I’m going to try and reproduce some of these past emails on the site for everyone.
When I began this project I had hoped to put a place on the Internet as a unifying place where all of us who were on this Odyssey could come together in harmony. Unfortunately, it has worked more to the opposite and been more contentious than I could ever imagined. I would like anyone who finds errors of commission or omission to please let me know by posting here or by sending me an email so that I can correct them. It’s important because the information on this site is starting to be considered authoritative as I recently witnessed quotes in the Wiki pages from here. So please come forward with helpful criticism or new information. Hopefully it would be cathartic, at least and at best, illustrative of our band’s crazy and mostly wonderful journey.
